Companies are finally bringing their employees back into the office. However, with many still working remotely thanks to technology and moving during COVID, companies are looking to hybrid activities to keep their employees engaged.
As now being observed by corporate America, managers and human resources leaders have raised concerns about “proximity bias”, or leaders favoring employees who are in the office more. Are they more likely to receive promotions or pay raises? In an effort to solve this problem, some companies are focused on how to better engage employees through meetings and team building activities to get equal face time with their bosses no matter where they’re located.
Companies like Google recognize that proximity bias is a “real, pertinent issue” that companies will need to grapple with in the months ahead. But experts say that leaders should be more deliberate about how they engage all employees. So questions are now being asked: what can teams do together when not everyone is physically in the office? And is it cost effective to fly everyone in on a regular basis? Probably not.
Fortunately, many virtual events like our Ice Cream Social and Mai Tai Cocktail Party are easy activities for all employees to enjoy, whether they are at home or in the office. We’ve already sent hundreds of our custom kits all across the country and around the world. For groups with employees in the office, there is no reason why we can’t consolidate ice cream toppings and delicious bottles of french orgeat syrup so that it all goes to the right place – all while also keeping in mind our sustainability efforts.
Just let us know on our event inquiry form. We’ve updated it so that you can let us know if you need a more hybrid solution to make your team building efforts a better success.
